About CVS Specialty Central
CVS Specialty Central is a secure online location that lets you view and manage your patients’ CVS Specialty®, CVS Pharmacy® Specialty Services and Coram® prescriptions in one secure place. You can track prescription progress by practice or individual provider, helping you stay on top of therapy initiation and ongoing patient care.
In addition to real-time status visibility, CVS Specialty Central includes enhanced digital capabilities to streamline office workflows, such as self-service tools for scheduling office-administered medications, confirming delivery of medications to the prescriber’s address and accessing live chat support for quicker issue resolution. Multi-factor authentication helps ensure you can securely track your patient’s prescription throughout the entire dispensing process.
Yes. The dashboard is available 24/7. Upgrades or new releases will occur during non-traditional business hours to minimize disruption. If the dashboard is unavailable, a notification will appear on the screen after you sign in.
Yes. You can sign into CVS Specialty Central through any device with a web browser and access to the internet. Review your practice policies to make sure you’re complying with their guidelines.
No. Fax communications will continue. However, utilizing CVS Specialty Central may reduce the need for fax communication due to quicker responses. The dashboard enhances visibility and provides additional digital tools, such as live chat support and self-service features, but does not replace existing fax workflows.
Yes. You can still call for assistance. However, CVS Specialty Central also provides faster digital support options, like real-time prescription visibility and self-service tools, to help resolve issues more efficiently.
Send an email to SpecialtyCentralHelp@CVSHealth.com to identify your representative. Please include the provider’s name, NPI number, practice name and complete address. We’ll make sure that a CVS Specialty Account Representative in your area contacts you as soon as possible.
Getting access
You may request access through the self-registration portal. Simply follow the steps to complete your registration and get started.
Yes. Each user must have their own account to ensure the protection of PHI and prevent credential sharing.
You may continue using your username if your original email forwards messages to the new email address. If not, contact your CVS Specialty Account Representative for help.
You must sign in at least once every 30 days to keep your account active. If it expires, your account can be reset by your CVS Specialty Account Representative.
Prescription data
Several prescription status phases are available in CVS Specialty Central to provide more detailed visibility into where an order is in the process. These include:
- Ready to Schedule – The prescription is eligible for scheduling of an office-administered medication.
- Scheduled – The office-administered medication has been successfully scheduled.
- In Progress – The prescription is moving through the specialty pharmacy dispensing process.
- Attention Needed – An action is required from the provider or practice to move the prescription forward.
- Shipped – The prescription has been shipped or delivered.
- Closed – The prescription has been completed or closed for various reasons (details available in the system).
- Order Cancelled – The order has been cancelled prior to fulfillment.
- Rx Discontinued – The prescription has been discontinued (details available in the system).
Yes. Your dashboard shows the latest status, but additional history (e.g., refills) can be viewed in the prescription details page.
Yes, when this information is available from the shipping partner, such as UPS, USPS or FedEx. Tracking information is provided in the prescription details.
For convenience, patients may choose delivery to any of our 9,900+ CVS Pharmacy* locations, including Target locations, where allowed by law.
No. This dashboard only displays prescriptions filled through CVS Specialty, CVS Pharmacy® Specialty Services and Coram®.
Copay information may be displayed in certain instances when a prescription is processed through an electronic claim and all payers within the coverage path have adjudicated successfully.
However, copay information will not be available for prescriptions billed under major medical, for scenarios where billing occurs after shipment, or if the final copay has not yet been determined, as this information may not be finalized at the time of dispensing.
Privacy and security
No. Only patients with prescriptions sent to CVS Specialty, CVS Pharmacy Specialty Services or Coram — and who are associated with providers that have been verified on the account — will appear in the dashboard. If a prescription was sent to another pharmacy or the provider is not linked to your account, the patient and prescription will not be visible.
After five minutes of inactivity, you will be prompted by a message on the screen. After 15 minutes of inactivity, you’ll be signed out automatically.
CVS Specialty Central uses multi-factor authentication (MFA) and complies with applicable privacy laws to protect patient information.

Prescription status is updated every 30 minutes.
No. Prescriptions must still be sent electronically via ePrescribe, fax or phone. Sending electronically will give you the quickest visibility in CVS Specialty Central.
No. Direct messaging functionality is still evolving, but CVS Specialty Central now offers live chat support to help providers quickly resolve questions and address issues without needing to call.
No. The dashboard is only for providers and authorized staff. Patients may access their information via CVSspecialty.com or the mobile app after onboarding and registering an account.

Puerto Rico requires first-fill prescriptions to be transmitted directly to the dispensing specialty pharmacy. Products are dispensed by CVS Specialty and certain services are only accessed by calling CVS Specialty directly. Certain specialty medications may not qualify. Services are also available at Long’s Drugs locations.
CVS Specialty Central is available for specialty therapy prescribers. Visibility includes prescriptions sent to CVS Specialty, CVS Pharmacy Specialty Services and Coram CVS Specialty Infusion Services. Tracking information will appear in the status dashboard when available from the shipping partner. Digital scheduling and live chat may not be available for all therapies.
